SMART Motorway and More PSP Games!

Today is a good day. With the newly built SMART Motorway, or more well-known as the SMART Tunnel, I am able to reach Golden Triangle in just 20 minutes from Subang Airport. I was excited when Jin drove me to KL using the tunnel.

I can see it is a well designed motorway. With its special features like FM radio and mobile phone reception when driving in the tunnel, SMART Motorway is set to be the best tunnel built in Malaysia.

I don't know about others, but for me, paying the extra dollars but can beat the massive jam is really worth it, especially I tend to work far from the city.

I left my office at 6.30pm (considered peak hours with massive jams) and I manage to see Times Square right in front of the tunnel exit at 7.00pm. Isn't that cool?!!

The reason I need to go to KL is because my newly bought pirated earphones for my PSP is not working right after its 1 week warranty ended! Where got so "ngam" one I ask you? Then as usual, I went back to the store, that guy will tell me "Oh..these earphones are more than one week already, so cannot change lorr". WTF? Since I am already here, I rather download more FREE PSP games. That guy actually offered me a second-time free games download, so I actually saved a lot on games!

I went for these:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Initial D

Burnout

Eragon

and "Tien Di Zhi Men"

Guess I will be busy this weekend with all these new games!!

How I celebrated Mother's Day

It's Sunday today. I never follow my Dad for the usual Sunday lunch as I have my to-do list for today. I've celebrated Mother's Day with my Mom in advanced yesterday, so I am free for this whole afternoon. First of all, I need to go to KL for shopping!! It's been so many weekends I didn't do it. Gee...how I miss going for shopping without anyone rushingor disturbing me. You know, impatient bfs are always the problem when comes to shopping. LOL.

Guess what? I went to Lot Ten MNG, tried on two pieces of clothings, then decided not to buy it there coz maybe there would be more stocks in the Midvalley branch. So I went to reserve the items in Lot Ten first just in case they were sold out. I always do that. So I am pretty good at buying from the best store that has the best stocks.

Before I head to Midvalley, I would have to go to a bank in KLCC to collect my replacement credit card. You know, that bank is so stupid! Why stupid? Because they hire stupid people lor.

The story goes like this: Few months ago, I found out that my credit card PIN has been tampered. So I call their customer serivce, asking them what should I do. The customer service officer gladly told me that I can actually go to any of their branches to surrender my old card and apply for a new card. So, I did as what I was told. I went to KLCC branch (for convinient purposes, as they opens during weekends also). I surrendered my card, signed as statement saying that I needed a new replacement card. OK. Fine. I was told to wait for two to three weeks of processing.

I went home, and as days went by, already about a month of waiting, I called them up. I asking them is my new card ready for collection? They said no, no such record in their database saying that I've applied for new card. OK. Fine. I requested for a new card again this time, and again waited for another month, which is te current month of May.

Finally, I went to collect the card today. I was greeted by a "not-so-friendly" officer. I can say that his face is quite "black" when I first saw him. OK. Nevermind. I gave him my IC everything and he came back with my new card. The card looks so new and shiny. At first I was delighted. Then he asked me to sign all the necessary documents including the back of my card. Once I signed, I turn the card over and saw that it was the same credit card number as my old card. WTF!

At the first place, WHY I need a new card with the same number? I asked for a replacement card with a new number OK. I've already waited a few months to get this card and now I saw that it was wrongly processed.

I got mad and told the officer that this is a wrong card. He took more time calling their HQ. He came back to me asking me to pick up the phone because the HQ wants to speak to me.

I picked up the phone, a HQ officer greeted me with a friendly tone. I felt much better. My anger has subsided at this moment. She asked for verification details such as date of birth, place of birth and mother's maiden name. She promptly apologize to me and said that she will get me a new card with a DIFFERENT number and she will also expedite the processing time for me from 14 days to 3 days! Wow!! Now I know the power of angry customers. Hahaha!

That "black face" guy's face turned even blacker. Haha. I know he is mad at me anyway. Too bad, he is the one who serves me today.

I went for lunch so late, it's almost 3.30pm OK! Somemore cannot collect my credit card. I went for Dim Sum at Thai Thong Restaurant at the top floor.

As usual, I will order my all time favourite "mini lotus paste pau". It is forver so good. I like its mini size, as well as the smooth texture of lotues paste in it.

Some other dim sum I had:

All of them are good. I finished lunch at 4.30pm. Ha. Almost time for dinner for some old grandma!

Jin aasked me to dinner with his mom. Oh...I was too nervous to agree. As you know, it's not easy to eat with your bf's mom.

I grabbed a loose outfit at MNG Midvalley and changed on the spot just because the dress that I was wearing makes me look fat. LOL.

When we arrived at his house, his newly adopted dog, Max greeted me with his cute looks. It seems that he behaved himself in front of strangers but will be biting whatever gets into his mouth when there are no strangers around. Dog also know how to "jaga maruah" in front of other people. So cute!

We went to a Bak Kut Teh store in Puchong for dinner. Not very amazing. So no posting of pictures here.

Tomorrow seems to be the GDS rollout for me. So I gotta catch some sleep.

Restoran Teow Chew Meng

There was this particular day where I went to lunch with family at a Teow Chew Meng restaurant in PJ. This restaurant cooks unique teow chew food, such as the "Mee Sua Tow" which is actually "mee sua" or fine noodles cooked in sharsfin-like stock.

The mee sua tow taste plain but very good because you know you are eating healthy food at least. :P

The crowd us huge during weekends (especially Sundays afternoon.

There are a few popular side dishes to go with the "mee sua" actually. First, is the 3 Taste Oyster. It is actually the small oyster mixed with sweet and sour gravy, perfect to be eaten together with the plain "mee sua'.

Another highly recommeded side dish is this Fried Prawn. It is soo good I tell you. Not only crunchy, it also taste pretty good just like how fried egg taste.

They are famous for this Yam dessert. Hm.. this is not my cup of tea. However, if you are kinda enjoy trying out different food, then you should try this lor. For me, it taste like a little bit salty but weird.

Overall, this restaurant is unique and worth visiting. It is located at 33, Jalan SS 2/30, 47300 Petaling Jaya. Tel: 03-7877 9298. They even have email:
tcm_pj@streamyx.com

There are two more branches in the Klang Valleyand four more in other states. Do check them out if you're interested.

Mom's Birthday

Today is Mom's birthday. No plans were made in advance to celebrate with her. Dad took all of us out to Ikea. He intended to purchase a TV shelf BUT ended up bought so many small items for total price ofr RM 525!!! Anyway I am happy since this is the first time I've seen my dad spending coz as usual, he seldom spent. :)

Let me recall what he bought: one dish drainer, one kitchen wall shelf, one utensils mug, one SONGA corner storage shelf to the bathroom, few light bulbs, one wall shelf for bedroom, two brackets to complete the wall shelf, two vegetable/fruit drainer, two floor mats (extra rough so it suits him best), some nails for the shelves, some cookies from the Swedshop, and I bought a silver mug for holding my toothbrush.

Wah..walk until damm tired ok. Leg also going to patah. Mom as usual will complaint about the walking. FYI, my mom has arthirities (I know the spelling could be wrong, forgive me). She can barely walk long distance.

After shopping at Ikea, we head towards Desa Park City where my Dad's friend, Seww Leng is currently staying. She had just moved into this new concept gateless home with his son and daughter in-law. When we got there, it is soooooo deep inside that we find it hard to locate her house ok. Luckily with the invention of mobile phones, if not I feel I am entering a remote island.

The house is a terrace(linked) house. It is obviosuly gateless, as I had mentioned. The design is OK, but not outstanding. That means I won't scream "WAHLAU"... so nice ar!!!. The design is just like those normal newly built furnished homes that you visited at its show units.

The furniture is trendy and modern sleek design. The most amazing part is the kitchen cabinet. It overall costs RM 16 000! Wah. If next time my house also has a RM16 000 kitchen set how good hor? The kitchen has the microwave and baking oven built into it. Nice!

The living hall is OK only. Damm small. Can't even run in it. The whole ground floor is soo small, the dry kitchen, wet kitchen, dining hall and living hall all cramp into one small square place.

The staircase is obviously semi-spiral, given the limited amount of space to built a normal stairs. The upper floor consists of two small rooms and a master bedroom. The master bedroom size is OK, quite big. However, the other two small rooms is damm small also. I just don't understand why nowadays developers built such small rooms for childrens. Apart from the master bedroom, no one else in the house can enjoy the spacious luxusry of a home? Totally ridiculous. Actually through my observation, the upper living hall actually has ample space for the two small rooms to expand further. However, the developers just wouldn't want the children or family members to enjoy such benefit!

The 1st small room is small but at least the ceiling is full height. That means it is a normal flat ceiling. The other 2nd small room, I tell you. It's not only small, but the ceiling is slanting, like the attic style room for small kids that you see in Hollywood movies! My God. How could one live in such a small room? When you are young still OK la. But what about when you grew up?

The special thing about this house is, you can actually walk on your backyard, or at least allow your kids to walk on it without the fear of traffic might come in and hit them. The backyard is desgined with extensive green landscaping, and the only lane available is bycicle lane. So it is extremely safe.

One thing I dislike about this house is the open gate concept. The house already is very small. Then the gate is not there. When you open your main door, you are already entering a public place. If for me, I will feel that my car is park outside my house not very safe, as anybody around my neighbourhood could just come to my car and do whatever they like. Although the whole area is guarded by the main security guard entrance, you can't leave out possibilities that some of your neighbours can also do mischief right?

Anyway the porch is really sucks without the gate. Futhermore, it is very small. Car parked on it, then not much space for another car. I feel like I am living in a condo instead of a luxury terrace home. Coz the porch is opened to public, just like when you come out of your condo , you will share the common walkway corridor with your neighbours. My rating for this home - 3 out of 10.

At dinner time, me. Jin together with Mom, went to Unique Fisherman Restaurant for dinner. The occassion is of course to celebrate Mom's birthday. We ordered simple food because their life seafood is famous to be expensive.

Look at the vast variety of life seafood they have! Price are not cheap here, but I can say they are quite fresh lor. First, we had the "Longevity Noodle". It is a must for birthdays so that to wish the birthday person long life.

Second, we had this black bean sauce hotplate chicken. Yummy!

Third, comes this!! Ginger scallion frog. Damn fresh.

Then, its time for some vege. Spinach in soup, Jin's all time favourite.

It was a satisfying dinner. Maybe next time when I am richer, I will come back for their extremely expensive seafood like the "Mexico Geoduck" :P

Lastly, Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Restoran LYJ Sdn.Bhd.

Sundays are usually a fun day for me because my Dad will bring us, whole family out for a good lunch. Usually, lunch will start around 12pm to 1230pm. He will choose any venue as he likes, as long as there is good food. So, today as usual, we went to this "Lee Hung Kei" (in Cantonese) restaurant at Sungai Buloh.

This was not the first time we've been here. As one of the shareholder is actually my Dad's friend. See, even this baord has his name on it because he is one of the many people who contributed money for it.

Food is super good value here. It's not only tasty, it is also very cheap indeed!

Our first dish was this "House special noodle". It tase similar to "Singapore meehon". But of course, this is even better!!!

Second was this super duper yummy "High quality soya sauce with pork slices". I can tell you, this dish is my all-time-favourite!!! It is sooo delicious, once I strat eating, I can't stop; just like Pringles! :P

Third in line was this, "Petai fish". Sorry photo not available forthis dish because it was sooo damn good, once it arrives at our table, it's gone!. So I wouldn't want to post such a horrible photo of a broken fish on this blog. One thing I can really tell is, its gravy is thick, and it is super nice!

Fourth was this specially hand-made noodle called "Low mee" in Cantonese. This is also my favourite dish. As its name suggest, the noodle was specially made by the restaurant's owner. Super yummmmmyyyyy!!

Fifth was this roast duck. This restaurant serves roask duck and char siew. So this dish is very common for them. Tatse good too but not outstanding.

Sixth was the ordinary tofu dish. No photos available as well because it was too oridnary to be noticed by me :P

Guess what? the total bill was only RM85. And there were 5 of us!!! (including my Dad's friend who tagged along for lunch). Wow...isn't that a great deal?

FYI, I was not paid to do this entry for advertising purpose. The main objective is I like food ery much. I would love to share my dining experience with all of my readers.

In case you wanna know where is this restaurant located at, here is the address: Restoran LYJ Sdn. Bhd. PT 11, Jalan Perkhidmatan, Kampung Baru, 47000 Sungai Buloh, Selangor. Tel: 03-61402678

Gotta go back to work now.

Mini Cooper

My Dad has been saying many times he wants to get a Mini Cooper. This afternoon, he brought me to its showroom near Bukit Bintang. For me, I always like the car, but not to say crazy about it. However, once I stepped into the showroom, OMG!!!! I just simply fell in love with it!! Its beauty and uniqueness is the one that attracts me most. I can say, the Kelisa (Mini Cooper's look-alike) really cannot compare to this.

The selling price is Rm195k! I think really not many people will consider spending such money to buy such a "mini" car. I guess they rather purchaze a Benz instead.

I am quite sure that Dad will purchase it, but he still needs to think whose name to register for it. He claimed that my income tax is too less to be the owner of the car. :((((((((

Anyway, I'll just keep my fingers cross!

In the evening, I really feel like watching "Forest of Death" so I met up with J after some weekend shopping. Gues what I've bought? MNG top again. Sigh.. just couldn't resist myself from shopping. Anyway, the movie is not showing in GSC One Utama anymore. :(

Dinner time, me and J planned to drive to Klang for a nice Bak Kut Teh meal. Called SL, he gave us the direction to Klang, but stupid NKVE didn't display signboards correctly. So we ended up at the wrong path. Like that also nvm, the worst thing is we have to pay RM2.30 of toll!!! Never get to eat Bak Kut Teh, AND ALSO MUST PAY TOLL!!!!. WTF man!!!!! I hate Malaysia's signboards. They always dissappears halfway and we don't know which direction we need to take. Unlike in the U.S, "freeway" are sooooo damm good u know. They numbered all their freeways. Their map will always be accurate in showing which "number" you need to take. It's so freaking easy to drive there. Sighhhh

Drove to Taman Maluri, thought of eating that famous Bak Kut Teh (don't quite know what's the name of it), but it CLOSED down. Aiyah! Then went to Taman Pertama, nothing much special to eat there. Then finally, Taman Connaugh. Ahh..many stores that offers good food. We settled at BB Restaurant. Their "char siew" is damm good, but must be accompanied with their specialty char siew sauce. OH!!! I feel so high when eating it. We also ordered "lamb stomach claypot". They serve with the portable gas cooker. Yummy! Damm good lar..

Went home so full and satisfied. Haha. Ok will sleep soon.

Getting started

This will be my very first entry to this blog. Nothing much but just to blog down what I've done on this particular day. I am sure in future, this entry would be something worth to cherish and could be historical as well (who knows right?)

I went to PIKOM PC Fair this morning (oh no...I was supposed to reach there at 11am but ended up caught in the jam so I only reached at 12pm, so it's consider afternoon). Crowd was huge as expected. My main intention is to purchase an external harddisk (slim type) that can be carried around. The reason is, I need to backup all my files from my office (the one at client site as well as the one in my office building). I was actually anticipating on buying it during PC fair, and so coincidently, PC Fair is today. :P

Got satisfied with the Samsung harddisk selling at RM185, plus casing RM 15. Paid with credit card so extra of 2% charge applies, so the total is RM204. Consider ok lah!

I've also purchased a pair of Aztech walkie talkie...I know it's weird why I need that, but sigh..it's a long story..so I don't plan to blog it here though.

At night, I went to my dad's friend's son's wedding (wow...so complicated lol), Everything was ok except I feel that the bride hasn't smile enough. What is her problem? I don't know. Maybe she doesn't like to smile, or maybe she is just too tired after all the hassle of getting married haha!. Anyway, I drank some whiskey and I am tired now. So that's all for today I guess.
